My Favorite Update Yet!!!

 Hello!!

I hope you all are having a great summer! I’m so excited to update you all on what God has been doing in our ministry this past semester. I titled this blog My Favorite Update Yet for a couple different reasons, but really and truly God has been powerfully at work through our ministry and in our lives! I cherish your prayers and your generosity, and can’t wait for you to hear some of these stories!

We’re Having Babies!!!

Baby Boy!

Baby Girl!

TWINS! Lindsey and I were so shocked and excited to find out that we’re expecting a sweet baby boy AND a beautiful little girl. Right now she’s 27 weeks along, and everyone is doing great. Please pray that they continue to grow and develop well, that the birth is smooth and uncomplicated, and that they grow up to be sold out, all-in disciples of Jesus! Our adjusted due-date (38 weeks cuz twins) is September 25th! We can’t wait to meet our sweet kiddos.

FCS

Our Spring semester with our Fellowship of Christian Students at McMillan JH was some of the most exciting ministry work I’ve ever gotten to be part of. When we got back from Christmas break, our leaders were just on fire and so excited to leave a legacy of Jesus at their Junior High. We would meet one Friday and 60 kids would show up. Then the next week 70, and the next week, 80! At one point in the semester, WE HAD 124 8TH GRADERS AT FCS!

My Leader Team!

I can’t even really explain how cool it was to see God move in and through this group of students over this year. Multiple times during the year we would be having our Thursday leader meeting, and the leaders would ask me if we could “go fishing”. “Going fishing” is what we would call going out during lunch/study hall to reach out, pray for people, talk to them about Jesus, and invite them to FCS. These 8th graders were so pumped up about Jesus that they were going out in their school, and boldly inviting their classmates to come and get to know Jesus! How cool is that?
Because of their boldness. Our group over doubled in size this year, and students who otherwise would never have gotten to hear about Jesus got to come to our group, pray, read the Word, and talk about Jesus with pastors, teachers, and classmates. It truly was a God-deal! At the end of the year, we had two of our students who wanted to get baptized. We got to throw an end of the year party and baptize them!

Emily got baptized!

Andres Got baptized!

It was such an honor to get to be part of this group of amazing students. I’m so excited to continue to get to work with them on into High School, and see what all God does through them!

Deep Dive

Throughout the semester on Monday nights we continued to meet for our Deep Dives. It really does have a special feel to pack into someone’s living room, and open the Word together. We’ve gotten to go through the books of James, Ephesians, and Philippians so far this year! Our students are really enjoying going through the Scripture a little slower and more in depth. I’ve definitely seen the Lord grow their love for His Word. It’s been great!

Prayer Requests!

-We leave for CTF Camp next week! We’ll be taking about 80 total students and adults to the mountains of Sacramento, NM. Please pray for safe travels to New Mexico, and for God to use next week to have a lasting impact on all our students lives! He always shows up in really powerful ways, so we’re expecting it to be the best week of the year!
-Please pray for Lindsey and me, our babies, and just everything we have to do as we get ready to be parents. Pray for both of our ministries as we adjust to life and ministry with kids!
-Pray for my Summer Interns Kole, Laiya, and Hayden. They’re doing an awesome job learning about teen ministry and serving our students.
-Pray for our students who are continuing to grieve the loss of their mothers. Gabe, Claire, and Ella, as well as Corbin.
-Pray for the students who I get to mentor: Liam, Austin, Aidan, Corbin, Keaton.

As always, I couldn’t do what I get to do without you, so thank you SO MUCH. “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭6‬ ‭

God bless you all!

William
