New Years Ministry Update!

"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." -Job 1:21

Happy New Year! Whether 2024 was a great year for you, or one filled with challenges and difficulty, let us remember as we head into 2025 that only God has the power, goodness, and perspective to run the world. He gives and He takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Let me catch you up on all that we've been doing at CTF, and some things we're looking forward to this year.

Camp

God answered our prayers again this summer and we had one of our best camps ever. Our theme was "Wholehearted", and we spent the week talking about what it means to be a person who is all-in for Jesus. It was an awesome week full of worship, fellowship, fun, growth, and long lasting change.

After camp I got to baptize Trent and Huntyr, two guy that I met with and studied the Bible with for a couple of years. One of the highlights of my whole year!

CTF Nights

For the Fall semester we worked through a sermon series on the Fruit of the Spirit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23. Our goal was to teach our students what life lived in the Spirit looks like and produces. It was one of my favorite series that we've done! We also got to have a handful of Monday night events for outreach including a Rodeo Night, Pickleball, and a Songs and S'mores worship night.

School Ministry

Anytime I'm talking to people about my ministry and they ask me what's been encouraging or exciting, I always start by telling them about the ministry we're getting to do in the public schools. Our FCS (fellowship of christian students) groups have been unbelievably encouraging this year. I lead a group for the baseball team at Wylie East, a few of us lead two groups at McMillan JH, and we just got approved to start a new group at Wylie High School this semester! So literally multiple times a week we get to walk into public schools, engage with students, open up the Bible, read it, discuss it, and pray together. Not only that, but we're seeing these kids reach out and invite their friends, classmates, and teammates to come join us! It really is incredible. We've had a few weeks where our 8th grade group at McMillan has 50 kids show up. God is really working in these schools, and it's such a blessing to get to go to where the kids are and help them bring His light to their campuses.

Other News

After a couple of years of ground work, my wife Lindsey got to plant a new FOCUS (fellowship of christian university students) ministry at her alma mater TCU! This has been a dream of hers ever since she started working for FOCUS back in 2020, and it's been so exciting to get to see her new ministry grow!

Prayer Requests

-We have a few students who are struggling with loss and grief right now. One of our freshman lost his mother to cancer in October, and our church lost one of our friends, members, and women's ministers in December to cancer as well. Her three kids (7th boy and two 9th girls) are also part of CTF and our FCS groups. Their names are Corbin, Gabe, Claire, and Ella. Please pray for comfort and peace as they all lost moms much too young, and are just heartbroken. Pray also for us to be good ministers to them.

-Pray for our FCS groups, specifically our new group we're launching at Wylie HS this semester. Our main goal with those is to reach kids in their schools who otherwise may never walk into a church and hear about Jesus. Pray for our groups at McMillan and Wylie East as well.

-Pray for all the guys I meet with and disciple one on one: Carter, Corbin, Keaton, Caleb, Austin,  and Liam.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update and pray. Thank you for your financial generosity and the support of this work that I get to do. Please never hesitate to reach out to me if there's anything I can do for you or pray for you. Thank you!
