New Years Ministry Update!

Image
"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." -Job 1:21     Happy New Year! Whether 2024 was a great year for you, or one filled with challenges and difficulty, let us remember as we head into 2025 that only God has the power, goodness, and perspective to run the world. He gives and He takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Let me catch you up on all that we've been doing at CTF, and some things we're looking forward to this year. Camp     God answered our prayers again this summer and we had one of our best camps ever. Our theme was "Wholehearted", and we spent the week talking about what it means to be a person who is all-in for Jesus. It was an awesome week full of worship, fellowship, fun, growth, and long lasting change.  CTF Camp 2024 After camp I got to baptize Trent and Huntyr, two guy that I met with and studied the Bible with for a couple of years. One of the highlights of my whole year! CTF Nights ...

Spring Recap and Summer Plans!

" Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,   who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,   to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." -Galatians 1: 4-5     Hello again! I hope all of you who are reading this are having a great Summer so far. Thank you all for your continued generosity towards me and our ministry here in Wylie. I could never express how much I appreciate each one of you, and I literally could not do the work that I get to do without your prayers and financial support. God has been working amongst our teens, and I'm excited to share some of the things He's been doing with you guys! I hope this encourages you all! CTF Nights      One of the things that I've noticed over my last five years doing youth ministry is that the Spring semester is usually really hard. Kids get excited for the start of school in the fall, and with t...

Fall Recap & Ministry Update!

Image
Hello friends and supporters! I hope you are all doing well! I wanted to share a recap of CTF's Fall Semester, and some of the things we have going on right now. God has been so faithful and working in so many ways, and I can't wait to tell you more about it.      The longer I do youth ministry, the more I cling to the image that we get in Scripture of planting, watering, and growing seeds. 1 Corinthians 3 talks about how we as servants are  responsible for planting seeds of faith in people, as well as helping to water those seeds. Verses 7-8 say " So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.   The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. " Ministry can really be boiled down to two simple things: planting and watering. As ministers of the Gospel we plant new seeds of faith in people, and we try to water the se...

It's that time again! A New School Year!

"   I thank my God every time I remember you.   In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy   because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,   being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." -Philippians 1:3-5   Hello again! I apologize for the lack of ministry updates over the Spring and Summer. Work with CTF and life has been busy, and I regret that I haven't kept you all in the loop as much as you deserve! That being said, I have so much to share with you about what God has done so far this year, and exciting plans for the new school year. I pray for you all often, and my heart overflows with gratitude as you sacrificially partner with me to help God's Kingdom grow amongst the students I get to minister to! Spring Semester     We had a great Spring semester at CTF! We kicked off in Jan...

Fall 2022 Recap!

Image
Happy New Year!     I hope you all had a great holiday season, and I hope 2023 is off to a fantastic start! We had a fantastic fall semester at CTF, and our spring semester is already at full swing. I'm so excited to update y'all on everything that we did over the fall semester, and all of our plans for this Spring. It's a lot to cover, so I hope you take the time to read through it! CTF Nights     Over the fall semester, we were able to cover a variety of topics that we felt like would really benefit our students. We spent the first few weeks covering Evangelism in a series that we called Be the Good News. It was really cool to see our students respond to that series by going out into their schools and living out what it means to be invitational as a follower of Jesus. In our next sermon series we spent a few weeks covering some of Jesus' interactions with people in the Gospels. We talked about how Jesus interacted with Zacchaeus, the bleeding woman, the woman...

A New School Year!

Image
Hey there!      I apologize for not sending out a ministry update in the past few months. I assure you we've been hard at work at CTF, and I want to tell you about some of the things that have been going on! But first, on a personal note, say hello to the newest member of the Royal family! Bennie! Summer     Summer was fast and furious, but in a great way! Summer is always a strange time in youth ministry. A group of seniors graduate, people are in and out of town, camp is on the horizon, and then before you know it school is right around the corner. But we had a lot going on this summer!      This summer we offered our students a class that we called a Deep Dive through the Gospel of Mark . A group of us would meet on Thursdays and walk through the book of Mark at a little bit higher level than would typically be covered on a Wednesday night. I was blown away with how our students responded to this class. We had a consistent group of s...

Springtime!

Image
Happy April! I hope you've all been enjoying the beautiful Spring weather. Thank you for taking some time to read my ministry update! I hope it's an encouragement to you. God is working!  Encouraging Story!     A few weeks ago, I was driving home from small group on a Monday night when I got a call from a senior at Wylie High School. I've known this guy since he was really young, but he's never been very involved in CTF or  committed to his faith. He's generally been one of those guys who comes to camp in the summer, occasionally shows up for an event or Wednesday night, but during the school year kind of disappears. Well he called me that night, and I asked him how I could help him. He responded "I'm just tired of the way that I've been living, and I was wondering if you would study the Bible with my friend and me." Praise God! Since then, we've been meeting up every week to study the Bible. I can already see how God is working in these guys...
