April Ministry Update

   Hey everyone! Welcome back to my ministry update blog. We're already a week into May, and summer is on it's way! Let me catch you up on the month of April!

Springjita Update

    Thank you so much to all who registered for, gave money to, and participated in Springjita! This is our fundraiser to raise money to send our teens to camp in the summer. Year in and year out God continues to show his faithfulness to us by providing through the generous people in and around our community.  This year we raised over 35,000 dollars, and every dollar will go towards camp! CTF camp is easily the best, most fun, and most impactful thing that we do. God just blows us away every year at camp, and I know He's going to do it again this year. We can't wait to get these teens to camp! 

Songs and S'mores

    Once every fall and spring, we have an outreach event called Song's and S'mores. We invite our students and their friends to meet at a local park, play some games, roast some s'mores, and sing a few worship songs. It's always a really fun event for us, and a great way to reach out to new students. We had our spring songs and s'mores event a couple of weeks ago, and it went really well. Our students did a great job of inviting their friends and classmates, and it was so great to get to meet them. It's always fun to gather around a fire and sing some songs! 


Apprentice Classes

    One of the things I was most excited about in this apprenticeship was all the ministry classes. I can't believe that in the next few weeks we'll be wrapping them all up. In my next blog, I'll break each class down and highlight a few things that I learned and that stood out to me. The classes really have been so formative, stretching, and fun. I feel so blessed that I got to be a part of them this year. 

We got to have a Q&A zoom with Dr. Rikk Watts, a professor of New Testament studies from Regent College. 


Our apprentice crew with Ronnie! I'm so thankful for the wisdom and love that he's poured into us this year. I want to be like him when I grow up.

Prayer Requests

-Pray for our students. Summer's coming up, and that means lots of free time and different temptations for them. Pray that God would protect them from evil, open their hearts to His Word, strengthen them to not conform to the world, and that they would know and feel the love of Jesus.

-Pray for our ministry and our leaders. Pray that God gives us wisdom and discernment in the way we lead our students. 

-Pray for the students that I get to personally mentor: Hudson, Tyler, Logan, Aiden, Jacob, Kole, Connor W, Connor C, Cole, and Tucker. 

-Pray for CTF Camp this summer! We're two months away, and so excited. Pray that any student who's on the fence would sign up for camp, and that God would use camp to bring life to these teens.

Spring Recap and Summer Plans!

Fall Recap & Ministry Update!

     Hello friends and supporters! I hope you are all doing well! I wanted to share a recap of CTF's Fall Semester, and some of the things we have going on right now. God has been so faithful and working in so many ways, and I can't wait to tell you more about it.      The longer I do youth ministry, the more I cling to the image that we get in Scripture of planting, watering, and growing seeds. 1 Corinthians 3 talks about how we as servants are  responsible for planting seeds of faith in people, as well as helping to water those seeds. Verses 7-8 say " So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.   The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
